Guide For Pvp Crusader
Introduction
Hi! Yeah, welcome to my fourth guide! As topics says, it's about Crusader this time. For less informed ppl Crusader is another name for Charger which sounds... Err... Nicer... Anyway, this is famous anti caster char and if u build it well u will enjoy it. Over 15k one handed dmg makes u drool, doesn't it? Anyway, if u wanna build Crusader this is guide for u. Let's get things started...
Gear
Items listed in red are ur best options, suggested gear. I'll include screenshots of how ur char should look like using those suggested items.
Items listed in blue are poor man's choices.
Items listed in green are items that u should use if ur not rich enough to get suggested ones or u simply think those are better than suggested ones.
Helm: Harlequin Crest , Crown of Ages , Peasant Crown , Rockstopper , Crown of Thieves , Andariel's Visage , Kira's Guardian , Vampire Gaze
Armor: Chains of Honor Archon Plate , Arakaine's Valor Eth Zod Glitched , Guardian Angel , Duriel's Shell , Shaftstop , Leviathan , Tyrael's Might , Enigma Archon Plate
Belt: Verdungo's Hearty Cord , String of Ears , Thundergod's Vigor , Nosferatu's Coil
Weapon: Breath of the Dying Eth Berserker Axe , Baranar's Star , Up'd Headstriker , The Redeemer Eth , Razor's Edge , Doom Berserker Axe , Schaeffer's Hammer
Shield: Up'd Herald of Zakarum , Exile Eth Vortex Shield , Tiamat's Rebuke , Gerke's Sanctuary , Whitstan's Guard , Stormshield , Herald of Zakarum
Gloves: Dracul's Grasp , Steelrend , Bloodfist , Immortal King's Forge
Boots: Sandstorm Trek , Gore Rider , Immortal King's Pillar , Natalya's Soul , War Traveler , Marrowwalk
Ring 1: Bul-Katho's Wedding Band , Dwarf Star , Stone of Jordan , Whisp Projector , Raven Frost
Ring 2: Raven Frost , Dwarf Star , Stone of Jordan , Whisp Projector , Bul-Katho's Wedding Band
Amulet: Mara's Kaleidoscope , Highlord's Wrath , The Mahim-Oak Curio , Saracen's Chance , Metalgrid , Seraph's Hymn
Switch: Call to Arms + Lidless Wall , none , Call to Arms + any other shield
Skills
Charge: 20
This is main skill for attacking. Max it first.
Fanaticism: 20
Boosts up dmg, which is more important and speed, which is less important. Max is right after Charge or along with Charge.
Holy Shield: 10
Boosts up blocking and defense and makes ur shield look nice. Put 10 in it and let +skill make it go higher. It should be over 30 with final gear.
Vigor: 20
Syngery for Charge, max it after putting 10 in Holy Shield. It will also help u to get around faster in PvM... In Baal runs for example.
Might: 20
Another syngery for Charge, less useful than Vigor, max it after it.
Salvation: 1
Useful when facing elemental casters and other opponents with elemental attacks. Put only 1 point in it, that should be enough. This is optional.
Pre. reqs.: 1
Simply put 1 point in each pre. req. If ur bored u can use some of them for fun... Smite for example, or even Blessed Hammer and Concentration... They are effective, even with 1 point in them.
Total: 98
Yup, 98 in total. Do Den of Evil, Radament and Izual quests on normal, nightmare and hell and u'll be able to accomplish this build on lvl 87. If u find good party for leveling u'll hit 87 fast. Oh, if u put 1 point in Salvation it's total of 99, and avilable on level 88 with skill quests done.
Stats
Strenght: Enough for gear with +str on items
Depending what gear u'll use calculate how much str u will need base. Little help, calculate total +str on ur gear and subtract it from "heaviest" piece of gear, the one that requires the biggest ammount of strenght. Result is how much base str u need.
Dexterity: Enough for maxed blocking
This one depends on 4 things. First, chance to block on shield, second, ur level, third, ur dexterity and fourth, level of Holy Shield. How to calculate base dex needed: First of all u must hit final level. Equip gear u choosen to use to get +dex from items and +skills that add bonus to Holy Shield. Activate Holy Shield. Start putting points in dex until u have 75% chance to block on char screen. For 75% blocking with Holy Shield activated it should be u should have 120-150 dex including +dex bonuses from gear.
Vitality: Rest
Everything remaining should be dumped here. Extra life never hurts.
Energy: None
U won't run out of mana (probably at all) on later lvls so leave nrg at base.
Inventory
Inventory should be filled with following stuff:
Combat Skillers with 12% FHR: Get enough of them to hit 4 frames FHR. If ur using Sandstorm Trek which has 20% FHR and Verdungo's Hearty Cord which has 10% FHR u need 5 of them to hit 4 frames FHR.
Sharp Grand Charms with 30+ life: After u get enough 12% FHR Combat Skillers fill rest of inventory with these. AR, max dmg and life... Can't go wrong with that...
Small Charms with Life and possibly resist: Get ones with 19-20 life and resist all 4-5 or resist fire/cold/lightning/poison 9-11. Those are best, get as much as u need to have all resistances 75 on hell. Most important on them is 19-20 life. Resist is optional.
Note: If ur unlegit u can use 20/5's.
Small Charms with Life and possibly max dmg: Get ones with 19-20 life and 3 max dmg. After u got enough of life/resist SCs to have all resistances 75 on hell get life/max dmg SCs. When all the bonuses are applied u will see how 3 max dmg on SC is useful.
Note: If ur unlegit ur can use 3/20/20's...
Annihilus: A must... As usual...
Merc
Same as gear section, but for merc.
Notes:
Eth items are always better than regular ones... For merc.
Upgrade whatever can be upgraded.
Act 2 Nm Offensive

Some tips
There won't be lots of tips cuz there are only 2 categories. Dueling all melee chars is same and dueling all casters is same. There are few exeptions tho...
Melee
This is simple. Basically when u see opponent in ur screen simply Charge him. If u manage to get in Charge combo (when u continuously hit ur opponent with Charge bringing him in some sort of Charge lock) u'll win in 99% of the cases. That works for most of melee chars...
There are few exeptions.
WW barb or assassin for example. Never Charge them in middle of WWing cuz WW is uninteruptible and only thing that will happen is u hurting urself.
Casters
This is even easier than the melee chars cuz casters have less defense than them so it's easier to hit them. However, they will still be able to dmg u from a distance. It's same as for melee, when u see an opponent in ur screen Charge him.
There are also few exeptions...
Let's say Fireball sorc... Running straight into bunch of Fireballs is the most stupid thing u can do and it will result with ur own death. Rather try some tricks Charging around sorc avoiding her attacks and confusing her. When she doesn't expect it Charge her and try to get her in Charge lock. That works for most casters that have strong and fast source of dmg.
Casters like Blizz sorc are rather easy. They have very slow attack and that means when u see, her Charge her and she'll die since she will have only one chance to cast Blizz... And that chance will miss u in most of the cases.
Some casters won't be so easy. Hammerdins are tough since they spam Hammers and Charging straight into them will result with ur own death. Killing him seems impossible but there are some ways. One of ways is Enigma. Try using Teleport and Smite. That could help alot. When u Smite him few times he'll 99% start running/teleporting away to "recover" from Smite u just "gave him". Then quickly switch back to Charge and try to get him in Charge lock as always.
Note:
If u Charge an opponent and miss him/her don't try to Charge him from close. When ur facing enemy from close and try to Charge him it will result with just a regular attack, no matter u have Charge or whatever on ur left mouse button. Regular attacks will most of the time miss cuz regular attacks have low AR. Even if u hit it won't do much dmg cuz regular attack has no ED bonuses like Charge has...
Anyways, when u miss with Charge rather Charge/run away and Charge back after taken a long enough distance. Repeat 'till u hit.
A small screenshot
Final word
End of another guide... Hope u enjoyed, as I always hope... Well in final u will have a very good anti caster, only thing that can stand in his way is Bone Prison which isn't problem if u have Enigma. He will also take down most of melee chars with ease. U will see "U have died. Press esc to continue" message rarely. Anyway, over 15k dmg, over 3.5k life, maxed resists on hell and very unique way of attacking (Charging) will make u satisfied in duels.

ur suppose to use ebotd war pike (WP) since it give more damage than a barb with two ebotdz and amulet suppose to be highlord or metalgrid with high @$$ ar or deadly strike, charger do not need shield, they are berserker and all they need is damage and life and ar to handle the fat char (i.e. barb)
